Girls Opportunity Alliance Afghanistan Relief

The dangers that women and girls face in Afghanistan right now are unfathomable. Since the beginning of the year, over 665,000 people have been internally displaced by recent conflict—more than half of them children. Women and girls are especially at risk of seeing their access to education, among other gender equality victories, reversed during this critical moment.  More than 4.2 million children were already out of school across the country, 60 percent of whom were girls, and now that number is growing.

The Girls Opportunity Alliance is committed to educating and empowering girls and young women around the world. We are launching the Afghanistan Relief Fund to support girls through this time of increased vulnerability. Your contribution will help us provide grants to organizations, like CARE and UNICEF, that are tirelessly working to support the well-being and continued education of girls in Afghanistan and those who have been displaced.
