Words are inadequate for what we wish to communicate with you.

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you news of Shri Mahant Managalanand Puri aka Goa Gil's current condition.

Babaji, an icon and pioneer of the psychedelic trance community and a spiritual leader to many, has left his worldly body and his magnificent journey on this earthly plane has come to an end.

Babaji's contribution to the world of music and culture has been immeasurable, touching the lives of countless individuals around the globe. His dedication to music, spirituality, and unity has left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness.

As we come together to send our love and appreciation for him and his loved ones during this challenging time, let us also celebrate the profound impact he has had on our lives and the world. Please feel free to share your memories, thoughts, and messages of support as we honor his remarkable legacy.

In his final days Babaji wished to send his love and blessings to all and wanted to thank everyone for the love and support he has received over the years. He was at peace and was ready for his onward journey.

The Details:

After only 2 months of remission, Babaji's cancer returned at an alarmingly aggressive rate. Unfortunately the 2nd round of chemotherapy was too much for his body to handle and weakened him even more.

After catching pneumonia, he was readmitted to the Hospital on the day before his 72nd birthday where tests soon revealed that he had a perforation of the bowel. He was immediately taken off the chemotherapy treatment and any solid foods so as not to complicate things even more.

The doctors concluded that he was too weak to be able to perform surgery and they were unable to resume chemotherapy with a hole in his bowel.

After a week in the hospital trying to find a solution, it was determined that there was no acceptable treatment and there was nothing the doctors could do for him. With this in mind, Babaji made the difficult decision to enter hospice so he would be able to spend his last days at home with his family, devotees and friends.

For the past 10 days Babaji has been at his home in California being cared for at all times by his loved ones.

Without food and with only small amounts of liquids, he was getting progressively weaker day by day.

He has also been on extremely heavy pain medication to allow him to be comfortable in his last days in this body.

Babaji finally returned to the universe at approximately 8:30pm on October 26th 2023, California time.

Let us join hands and hearts to send Goa Gil a wave of love and gratitude as he embarks on his final journey, and takes his final bow.

The Next Steps:

According to Hindu tradition, Babaji is required to be buried by a traditional method to enter Maha Samadhi.

Babaji will be seated in the lotus position inside his grave and covered by salt up to his neck while his head is buried in sugar while various religious ceremonies are performed.

Babaji will have his main Samadhi Temple built in Ujjain in India where he will have special puja's & ceremonies performed by his peers on the day of his death every year.

We have also found a very nice cemetery near his home in California that will allow us to have a funeral in the traditional method required for Samadhi. The burial site will be in a quiet and secluded part of the cemetery overlooking a beautiful valley and will be a peaceful place for Babaji's final resting place. Furthermore, the cemetery will allow us to build a small Samadhi Temple above his burial site so it will be the perfect place to visit and meditate with Babaji in the years to come.

Information will be posted in the future for anyone who wishes to visit his Samadhi Temple in Ujjain or California.

The Costs:

There are many expenses that will still need to be covered. A basic Funeral in California, including the grave site, will cost upwards of $25,000 and then there is the cost of building 2 Samadhi Temples as well as many other expenses.

There were also many expenses accumulated during his hospitalization and his time in Hospice as well as other ongoing expenses that will need to be covered in the future.

Babaji was an extraordinary human being who has touched the lives of so many people on this planet. He has spent most of his life trying to help people get closer to God through the trance dance experience. We are inviting anyone who loved Babaji to show their appreciation by giving dakshina/donating generously towards his Samadhi.

A Message from Babaji !!!

First the Bad News then the Good News !!!

The Bad News:

In Goa I was Diagnosed with High Grade B Cell Lymphoma which had already spread to multiple parts of my Body and very hard to treat !!!

The Good News is:

On Arrival back to Kalifornia, I presented myself to the Emergency Room @ Marin Health Hospital, was admitted immediately, and after seeing the all the reports from Goa, and meeting with the Hematologist / Oncologist, they have said that it IS curable !!! It will be a 4 1/2 month process of ChemoTherapy, which I started right away, as it is my only chance!

I am still in hospital here as I was feeling the side effects of the first doses, which are now wearing off and I am stabilizing now and expect to be able to go home tomorrow, which is a 5 minutes drive from here! Everyone has been extremely nice and compassionate, and expect me to have a full recovery!

Everything is in Lord Shiva's hands now, but I feel good and confident of a full recovery !!!

In light of all this my tour for 2023 is canceled !!!
