DONNA LYNN BROPHY SUPPLEMENTAL NEEDS TRUST
FUNDRAISER
My daughter, Donna Lynn Brophy (aka "Bhakti Brophy") was hit by a car in 1997, resulting in multiple surgeries, including cervical spine reconstruction in 2005. Living with spinal cord nerve root injuries and four incurable spinal diseases causes her severe chronic pain and has left her virtually bedridden and 100% disabled for the past ten years.
Donna’s insurance no longer covers all of the costs of her disability and care. Therefore, we have set up a SUPPLEMENTAL NEEDS TRUST (SNT) to help provide all the costs that insurance and government benefits deny. This Trust will allow her access to doctors and surgeons who specialize in her condition, as well as other modalities that have proven effective. These costs are significant, costing tens of thousands of dollars yearly.
Before becoming disabled, Donna was a professional photographer (Donna Lynn Brophy Photography) and musician in NYC. Her work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Vibe, Parade, etc., and her clients included Interscope Records and Y&R Advertising, amongst others. Her archives are represented by Retna NYC, London.
Donna started playing guitar at age seven. In the 1990s her music was heard on college radio. She played her solo LIVE ACOUSTIC shows at CBGB's and other venues.
With your contributions we can continue to sustain my daughter's quality of life, and she can continue to inspire others. Her perseverance and will to live inspire me daily.
Thank You Sincerely,
Jane C. Brophy/Trustee
