Gochu Gang Truck #1 Wrap!

Donation protected
Hi!

The truck isn't in Gochu Colors yet! We need about $5000 to cover the cost of upgrades and services like unwrapping, designing, and wrapping the truck to make it look like the beacon of Gochu!

We need your help!

To give back to you for helping us with this, we want to immortalize you! Gochu Truck #1 will have the names of everyone who donates even $5, printed on the outside of the truck! When people see Gochu number 1 trundling around the streets, they’ll know that every single one of those names contributed to helping us grow!

(Your name on the truck will be based on what GoFundMe says it is!)

DONOR REWARDS!
You can donate any amount to help out, but the more you give, the more we want to recognize you!
So the more money you give, the bigger your name will appear on the truck!

In addition, we'll have a tiered reward system so that you can unlock more benefits as you give more! In addition to the larger fonts with more money, there are donation milestones that give added options to how your name will appear on the truck.

DONOR MILESTONE BENEFITS!
(These add up the more you donate!)
$100: If you donate at least $100, You can email us a nickname (one that's not offensive as deemed by us) that you'd like to have appear on the truck
$300: If you donate at least $300, your name will be the largest font that any name can appear! No one will have their name bigger than yours!
$500: If you donate at least $500, We'll put your name in our stand-out Gochu red color with all the other yellow names!

$1000: If you donate at least $1000, We're going to give you the Gang treatment! For the next year, (from when the first day the truck starts rolling) we'll give you one free item each day you show up to this truck! This is how we thank the Gochu staff!

$5000: If you donate at least $5000, the price of the wrap, we're going to give you the honor of having a menu item named after you! We may even develop a new item in honor of you!

Other ways you can help?
With this fundraiser, we wanted to give you another option to help us out with something in return that a little more substantial than a thank you! As always, we appreciate every single customer! And something as little as letting us know how good our food is or sharing the magical wonders of Gochu Gang are all ways to help us reach our goals!

A little about Gochu's origin story
(and a bit of the vision you're donating to!)
A lot of people ask us things like, “Why start a pop-up food stand?” or “Why do Korean BBQ?”. Short answer, we love Korean food and we like money. Here’s the long answer:
As a teacher, I (Dean) had income but it took 5 years to get out of student loan debt. Once I got out of debt I thought, why not invest in myself? I worked in the private sector before teaching and felt bad about how I had to do things, like lie to good people so my bosses could make money. I kept thinking to myself, how can I make money while doing good for people and making them happy? Easy, serving good food! There aren’t a lot of things that can top the feeling of serving someone a good meal when they’re hungry. I was Brainstorming with my brother-in-law, Juan. He’s the best cook I know hands down. This guy has single-handedly ruined dishes for me because nothing compares to his cooking. I was talking about how I wanted to start a truck and had a whole layout of what I’d do and that’s when he said something: “Why don’t WE start a food business?”
I thought, “With his food, this business would have the potential to grow into something huge.. Something that can help us AND help so many other good, honest, hardworking people. Family, friends, co-workers; Good people that society won't recognize. Good people that WANT good work. The kinda people whose days are made when a customer tells them they just ate the best Bulgogi they've ever had.
Our next thought was “What food did we want to serve?” Being of Mexican descent, we thought it would be awesome if we could deliver genuine Mexican dishes. But with Juan being the food genius that he is- anything was on the table.
We and our friends are fanatical about Korean Barbecue. When we were thinking about the business, it was during the pandemic. There were no places to sit down to eat KBBQ with our buddies and then it clicked, why not provide the to-go experience at to-go prices? As we started the business, we had a hiccup. The pandemic made it harder to get loans, so we put our own money into it. We bought a grill, tent, and equipment to roll out on the local streets introducing our love of Korean BBQ to the people we grew up around. Many hadn’t even heard of Kimchi until we came by!

After working for some time, gaining popularity, expanding to breweries and giving good people work opportunities, we have finally purchased our first truck!
This truck represents another chapter in our story, where we make the vision one step closer to reality. We want to share our food with the greater LA area. This truck is going to lead to more trucks and locations so we can reach Korean BBQ lovers all over LA, and one day, all over the country!
