God Save The Cow - The Mad Cow Curiosity Shop

The Mad Cow needs your HELP!!!

Finally, after some severe pride swallowing, we're doing what I knew we should have done over a week ago. We're reaching out to you, all our wonderful friends to help us through this scary time we're all living through. After a couple of days after Oberlin College sent their students home for the rest of the school year, and difficult early farewells to our student friends we decided to close. We knew it was the socially responsible thing to do, but also knew we (like so many small businesses) would be financially devastated. Being a rather small shop still in its infancy, we were already barely staying afloat. We spent what little we could to bolster our inventory in preparation for commencement (obviously null and void). There was no rainy day fund (let alone a global pandemic fund). It also appears that we may not be eligible for the government assistance most are receiving (long story). So here we are, desperate, possibly facing eviction (from both our shop and home) in just a few days. I know everyone is afraid, for our loved ones, our livelihoods, and our futures. If there is anything you can spare it would mean the world to us, no matter how small. Maybe we can save our humble little shop, or at least put some food in Zeus's bowl. Whatever happens, I want you to know it has been the greatest thing in my life being a part of our community and the amazing relationships we have been lucky enough to develop. I risked everything I had on this Mad adventure, and no matter what it has been absolutely worth it. For those who don't know, I'm third generation Obie, and its the only place I would ever want to live and work. If we make it through these trying times, my promise to you is this: to continue to put absolutely everything into making our shop the best experience for you that I can; to continue to develop our relationships with community members, students, faculty and travelers alike; and our biggest goal all along has been to get to the point where I can give back to this wonderful community that I call home.

We love you all from the bottom of our humble hearts!!!
