God's big step for the Graves Family

Dear family, friends, and supporters,

The Gravey Baby Train is departing from the station yet again, and this time with a bittersweet urgency. Chelsey and Jamie currently have emergency custody of the 5th baby from the girls' bio mom. What sweet miracles we have already seen God working through this YES to the Graves taking him home in their custody; while this seemed entirely impossible 24 hours ago, God in His Sovereignty used the judge to show favor to this step towards adoption. The road has not been easy or smooth, but Chelsey and Jamie "consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed" (Romans 8) as they experience Jesus's very heart by boldly and joyfully loving like He does. No turning back. Fully leaping off the cliff that is whatever He has in store for their family.

Dear team, the "yes" to emergency custody allowed Chelsey and Jamie to take this young fighter home with them on Friday night, but there is still much trusting, following, and miracle-waiting to be done. Chelsey and Jamie have an official court date on Wednesday, January 31, and by this time they are hoping to raise the money for the adoption. It looks like a mountain, but we have seen God move bigger mountains time and time again, and even if God's plan for this baby is different than the Graves adopting him, we get to stand alongside them as they "delight in the Lord and He gives [them] those desires. Committing [themselves] to His ways, He will act, bringing forth righteousness and light." (Psalm 37:4-6)
