She’s tiny but mighty!
We are asking for help monetarily for their food, gas and time off work to be able to be back and forth at the hospital with Maddy so she isn’t alone at the hospital.
The Godwin family wants to thank each and every one of you for praying over Madelyn their sweet girl. Thank you to everyone that has reached out through messages and phone calls. Thank you for helping and sending such encouraging words. This is one of the scariest events JR and Noah have ever been through. So your words of encouragement bring joy and comfort to them during this dark time. So any donations or words of engagement are deeply appreciated.
Maddy update;
The blood culture came back negative for day 1! For us sort of ruling out meningitis but not completely but thats a big lift off our shoulders!
Bilirubin looks a little better today meaning no light therapy as of now!
She cant tolerate breastfeeding without a significant drop in O2. So I am pumping and we are doing bottles. With bottle feeds we have to stop every 5 seconds her from sucking or her O2 drops out again. We can tell after feedings she is extremely worn out and just has been sleeping a lot right now!
We have had episodes with a drop in heart rate with a drop in oxygen following up while sleeping.
We are getting an echo-gram to rule out any cardiac issues- due to having questionable stuff on pre and post but nothing too solid to worry about and no murmurs heard on stethoscope.
Right now she will have to go at least 24 hours without having these episodes before she can come off oxygen then she will come off oxygen and have to go 48 hours without an episode from there. So right now praying for no more episodes.
We are praying this is all just a pre-mature baby issue and nothing too extreme! And praying the episodes stop and she’s able to relax
The doctor also stated she is showing to be 35 weeks gestation instead of 37+4
