Danielle Choquette McKelvey- Long road to recovery
Donation protected
Anyone reading this knows and loves Danielle. She is a beautiful, bright, caring and compassionate force of nature and the world is better with her in it. She enriches our lives with culinary gold and infectious company. Danielle is blessed, along with proud papa Morgan McKelvey, with two remarkable young boys, Zaryan and Bodhi, who have made Talent, Oregon their home for the last 10 years. She was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska to Marc and Dorie Choquette, sandwiched by brothers Troy and Eric.
Tragically on February 14, 2023 Danielle was in a car accident that broke her body. With 25 broken bones counted, numerous blood transfusions and intensive internal trauma it is by divine intervention that she is still with us. She has been receiving excellent life-saving care from the good people working the ICU. This incredible team has been working around the clock to surgically rebuild her.
At this time Danielle has undergone multiple major surgeries targeting her poly-traumatic injuries, everything from head to toe. She is still in the hospital in need of more surgery, as of now it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel and she will pull through. Danielle will be moved to an appropriate long term physical therapy rehab facility when doctors resolve to discharge her. She is looking forward to months in a wheel chair and incredible pain while her body continues to heal. With the devastating injuries it is hard to tell how long it will take her body to recover.
Danielle’s family will be by her side during this long recovery period, we anticipate a lot of expenses as we tag-team physical therapy care-giving responsibilities. Any donations you can give are extremely helpful and immensely appreciated. The Choquette and McKelvey families are very thankful and fortunate to know Danielle has so many loving people in her corner. Please stay abreast of further updates concerning her latest progress and condition.
Thank you, bless you and hold your family tight.
