Hi TLM Friends and Family,
Here’s what you probably know about me. I’m Alicia, and I’ve been a trainer at The Lotus Method’s SOMA location for the past three years. In this time, I have helped hundreds of women find strength and comfort in their bodies during their pregnancies and new motherhood. I’ve had the honor of training some of you through multiple pregnancies. It has been thrilling to experience and be a small part of the growth of your beautiful families.
Here’s what you may not know about me. I am a trained pastry chef and professional dancer. I’ve lived in ten states and three countries. I’m an expert at roller skating and crochet. And I’ve tried unsuccessfully to get pregnant on my own for the past two years.
You and I are a lot alike. We’ve both felt the desire to have a family of our own, the feeling of having so much love to give someone else. It’s what brought you to our studios, expecting a child. For those who have struggled with infertility as I have, you understand the pain of longing and the heartbreak of a life incomplete. I too, live with those.
As a single woman, I need medical assistance to get pregnant in a healthy, efficient and ethical way. I have spent thousands of dollars and sought the opinion of several doctors who agree, In Vitro Fertilization is my best next step. A vast majority of health insurance policies cover no part of IVF, and this certainly applies to my own. With the blessing and urging of our founder Caitlin Ritt, I’m appealing to the generosity of this great community to help me with a procedure that would be otherwise out of reach.
The cost of this treatment is $20,000, which will cover one cycle of IVF treatment in November and its associated expenses: medical testing, blood work, medications, gamete donation, and monitoring.
I treasure the possibility of becoming a mother so deeply and know this will be the last opportunity to have a child myself. It is a gift beyond words, with an impact that’s immeasurable. There is nothing more meaningful than the creation and sustenance of love and life. I do the work I do because I believe in women as the empowered creators and leaders of humanity.
I am full of gratitude to be a part of this community, for the chance to bring a little one into it, and for the opportunity to ask for your support. Thank you.
