GoFundMe for Debbie

You know the song, if it wasn't for bad luck...
A series of unfortunate accidents have placed our Carmel classmate, Deborah “Litherland” Souder in financial hardship and Mike Keen and I are reaching out to you for help.
My name is Mary “Keasey” Decker and I have been best friends with our 1968 classmate Debbie since 7th grade. Over our more than 60 years of friendship Debbie seemed to have what we called “bad luck”. Every car she purchased turned out to be a lemon, and it went on and on like this over the years. Despite all her setbacks, she has always been an optimist and always worked to support herself, but with this latest setback she has hit rock bottom and that’s why we are starting this GoFundMe for Debbie.
As many of you know Mike recently posted details about Debbie’s fall that occurred on January 16th at a north side grocery store. For those who didn’t see Mike’s original post Debbie suffered a compound fracture of her right femur that was on top of her previous knee replacement. She had emergency surgery at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where a rod and screws were implanted to repair it.
Normally she should have been up and walking within days, but she suffered a life-threatening reaction and went into kidney failure. Weeks later Debbie finally stabilized and was able to return home. During her 1st home physical therapy session she was instructed to walk a few steps. That’s when she felt and heard a pop. Experiencing excruciating pain she went to the ER. She was devastated to find out that there was another fracture at the upper end of her femur where the screw was connected to the rod.
TALK ABOUT BAD LUCK!!
Her doctors decided to forego further surgery opting to see if her femur would heal on its own. They have ordered that Debbie put no weight on the leg for at least eight weeks.
Currently, she is home, but unable to even walk a few steps and waiting to start at home therapy again. Not being able to work in the foreseeable future Debbie is facing financial hardship.
We are asking that you consider helping ease Debbie’s burden with a gift of any size - even $5 or $10 would help her.
Hopefully, we can raise enough financial assistance until Debbie can return to work. All funds raised will go directly towards her every day living expenses and medical bills.
Prayers and any donation would be greatly appreciated.
Let’s show Debbie our support through this difficult time.
God bless each and everyone of you.
With Sincere Gratitude,
Mary “Keasey” Decker and Mike Keen
