Donations for the memorial of Dave ‘Burga’ Burgess.

This GoFundMe is for my mother in law, Tash Burgess, a beautiful, caring, and selfless woman who has given so much to her community. She is the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back to help others, always putting the needs of those around her before her own. Throughout the years, she has shared countless hugs with the community when they needed them most, made people laugh through their darkest days, and brightened everyone's day with her warm greeting of "Hello Darling" at the IGA.

For those of you that may know, Dave ‘Burga’ Burgess has recently lost his battle against pancreatic cancer. Although he fought valiantly against it for two years, he is currently in his last stages of life which has been an unexpected and emotional journey for his family. This illness took over very quickly, and his death will be a shock to everyone. In his final weeks, his wife and son have stood by his side, with his wife caring for him in ways you couldn’t even fathom. It has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for them, watching this process unfold, and yet they have never asked for help before—and still, they do not want to. However, we feel that this fund will help alleviate some of the financial pressures during such a challenging time.

Burga was a huge part of the local community, especially within the sporting world, contributing to both the football and cricket clubs here, as well as the football club in Milang. His legacy of inspiration and guidance will never be forgotten.

In addition to covering the costs of the funeral services, we are hoping to raise funds for a memorial to honor his life and his impact. Any form of donation, big or small, will ease this family’s burden during their time of grief and help ensure that both his memory and his wife’s unyielding care and love are properly celebrated. I will be accepting the funds and will immediately transfer these to Tash’s bank account as soon as my page has been verified.
