“Building a safe community of inclusion, equity, justice, dignity, and respect. All are welcome with kindness and respect.”
REAL is the face and locus point for racial justice work in our county, pushing back against systemic injustices. Now more than ever, it is clear that we must prioritize racial equity.
Funding will be used to support REAL as we move forward with:
· Growing the work our sub-committees organize, including work with Lamoille North and Lamoille South school districts, holding community book clubs and discussions, and compensating BIPOC community members for their leadership of REAL.
· Covering costs associated with our growing social media and traditional media presence, including our new website found at: REAL Website
· Sponsoring events such as the recent racial justice march in Morrisville, the multiple town car-parades in 2020, and the Juneteenth celebrations coming up on June 19th .
· Hiring a part time, Community Coordinator to support the work of our Steering Committee and sub-committees.
Please show your support by of our community, amplifying the voices of BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) leaders, as we work together in collective solidarity.
REAL Vision: The Racial Equity Alliance of Lamoille (REAL) envisions a community that embodies inclusion, equity and justice as values central to our identity. We are committed to building a safe community, where all people experience dignity and respect, and all are welcome with kindness and belonging.
