Marcus Trammell: Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Welcome to our GoFundMe for Marcus and his family, who are ever thankful for anything you can do to help, especially during times like these. Your kindness has never meant so much!
All funds raised will be used toward medical expenses, which include his hospital stay, insurance costs, short and long-term therapies, and medications.
Marcus was in a serious car accident on Friday, April 24th at 5:30 pm.
Home in quarantine since mid-March, Marcus decided to grab a cheeseburger from one of his favorite places, Dino’s. Owned by his friend, Alex, he wanted to make sure to support Dino's during this pandemic. It was a quick errand that turned tragic.
Turning into the parking lot, he was hit by a drunk driver going double the speed limit in a 35 mph zone. Marcus was ejected from the car through the windshield. He suffered a fractured skull, broken collarbone, fractured ribs, fractured lumbar spine (no paralysis) and a brain hemorrhage. With a traumatic brain injury (TBI), the updates change daily and it's hard to gauge short-term and long-term effective therapies and proper diagnoses. There is a long road ahead but we're hopeful and thankful he hasn't required surgery at this point. A long-term recovery and therapy plan has yet to be established as of the beginning of May.
Updates on his progress and healing will be posted regularly on our CaringBridge site.
