COVID-19 Protective gear for Health workers, India
Donation protected
WHY?
Many front line healthcare workers and doctors in India do not have access to adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) while they selflessly and tirelessly work to keep the community safe.
WHO ARE WE?
Care Beyond Borders was initiated by Dr.Arivarasan, Assistant professor at UPMC and alumni of Madras Medical College. It started off as a small scale and self-funded effort by a group of friends based in Pittsburgh, USA. Our team has quickly grown into a reliable and productive network across the US and India assessing demands at medical centers, procuring PPE/masks, arranging logistics for distribution on the ground, and delivering directly to the healthcare workers. Please visit our website - carebeyondborders for more information.
WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?
We have sourced 2000 KN95 Respirators and 6000 Disposable surgical masks, 2000 reusable surgical masks as part of Phase 1 using our personal network to identify reliable suppliers. It has been a completely self-funded effort so far. We have identified the needs through a systematic process of request forms that are available on our website .
WHY DO WE NEED ADDITIONAL FUNDS?
The price of an N95 or equivalent respirator varies from 2 to 5 USD, a washable surgical mask from 0.5 to 1 USD, and a disposable 3-ply surgical mask between 0.2-0.3 USD. We are receiving an overwhelming number of requests for respirators and surgical masks. As we are expanding our efforts, we now need your support to rollout our Phase 2 & Phase 3 distribution with the goal of delivering 50,000 masks. The stories from the ground have been so heartwarming and woeful.
Join us to support our heroes, who are risking their lives to keep the rest of us safe. All your funds will go directly to Care Beyond Borders. Your little contribution will go a long way to make a big impact. If you choose to ignore this, we understand the moral fatigue most of you are under. However, if there was ever a time to give, this is the time.
Every mask counts.
