Going Back to China (Flight, Tests, Quarantine)

I came back to America with my wife, Sam, in January for her first time coming to the country and meeting all my family. But, with the coronavirus pandemic, travel restrictions quickly fell into place barring me from returning to China. My wife and I stayed together as long as possible, but due to limitations on her visa, she returned to China in September. We've been separated for almost three months now. The good news is, with the new policy that started not long ago, I became eligible to apply for a new entry visa. I just obtained that entry visa yesterday, which is a huge step, and is making my return to China, my wife, and my normal life ever more feasible.

However, the second part of the struggle to return now begins, which is arguably far more stressful and far more expensive. I must pay for a very expensive flight, with one-way ticket prices well in the thousands. I also must get two negative, rapid result Coronavirus tests--one nasal swab and one antibody (igm) intravenous blood test, that have to be taken, confirmed by the Chinese embassy, and in my possession all within 48 hours before I board the plane. I also must pay for around two weeks of quarantine in a hotel in China after I arrive there.

So, I am starting this fundraiser in the hopes that my friends and family see what I'm up against and, if are able, even in these challenging times, to pitch in to help make my safe return to China and my wife happen. Things are moving fast and the rules are changing constantly, so the sooner the better. Everything helps, and I deeply and sincerely appreciate any and all aid that can be granted to me towards my cause.
