Gold Hill Odd Fellows Lodge #129 Needs your help.
Donation protected
Odd fellows Lodge 129 needs your help to restore our historic building, so that we can do more to support Gold Hill’s downtown community. You can donate to the little free food pantry here but please make a note with you donation.
It was built in 1898 the hey days of Gold Hill from the Dardanelles brick yard . This lodge has boasted membership numbers as high as 150. The lodge had the nickname “the Honky Tonk Lodge,” because of its Saturday night dances. This lodge is the biggest community center size building in Gold Hill. We would like to play a part in Gold Hill’s revival as a riverside city. Though our resources are limited, we try to fulfill the Odd fellows’ mission to relieve the distressed, educate youth, and help our community as much as possible.
Here is the good.. This old brick beauty can support a group of 200 when all renovations are complete. It has a kitchen that is nearly finished with a new steel triple sink and work tables. Due to the mold issue of 2010 all of the walls have been stripped away revealing the beautiful brick underneath and after many man hours the main hall has new joists and a new sub floor. The outside drainage issue has been addressed and sump pumps are installed.. Some electrical upgrades have been done in the kitchen and our meeting room thanks to donations from our neighboring lodges. Sadly there is much more to be done if we want to fulfill the needs of your community..
Phase 1
· Remove old attic/ceiling tiles/Prep for reconstruction. (industrial look)
· Remove old Bathrooms/Locate drains and plumbing.
· Replace water damaged bathroom floor area joists and flooring (last of the rot!)
· Frame 2x4 wall for 4 restrooms (ADA compliant) and 2 storage areas.
· Rough-in plumbing drains.
· Sound proof and drywall the existing 2x6 wall after moving to create commercial space..
· Finish Electrical and lighting update. (kitchen and the meeting room is complete)
· Replace outdated broken windows with double pane energy efficient windows.
· Put in a dance floor over the sub floor.
· Oven needs a hood

· Create a pass through from kitchen to the main hall.
