Gold Ribbon Network via Tokyo Marathon

Hi friends! I’m excited to share that I’ll be running the Tokyo Marathon on March 3, 2024 on behalf of the Gold Ribbon Network in Tokyo!
This is a wonderful charity that provides financial support for families of children with pediatric cancer, including support for travel and hospital stays, assistance for single parents, scholarships later in life for these kids to go on to study at colleges and universities, and financial support for side effects and other complications down the road.
Childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease death in children in Japan, but the number of patients is smaller than cancer in adults, so research and development of treatment methods and drugs are not as robust as they are here in the US.
The Gold Ribbon worldwide organization brings together professionals working within childhood cancer to share expertise and knowledge to improve treatments and patient care. The ultimate aim is to cure as many children as possible while reducing the side effects of treatment.
About 50% of survivors of childhood cancer face complications later in life. The Gold Ribbon Network provides support for improving the quality of life of these kids. They support the development of treatment methods and medicines so that as many children as possible will go on to lead normal lives after their diagnosis.
I’m honored to have the opportunity to raise money for an organization with such an important mission, and hope you'll consider supporting them along with me!
