Hi, I'm a Gold Star Father who lost his only son just over 4 years ago. I'm trying to tear a page out of my son Marine Corporal Joshua Barron's book and have been helping the families of our fallen heroes ever since his passing.
Once restored Goldeneye will be used to take the families of our fallen heroes and wounded warriors from Maine out for day trips on the ocean so that they can share their life's experiences and enjoy each others company.
The whole idea has now become a reality. It's going to take lots of labor (which we have already started) and a little money to complete this project.
This project is a labor of love in honoring all of our fallen heroes and their families. But, it does take money to maintain a large sailboat.
We just completed our first marine survey and it will cost at least $7,500 to get this beauty back in the water where she belongs. The remaining $10,000 will be used for mooring fees, fuel and operating expenses so that the families of our fallen can enjoy day trips out on the ocean.
All funds raised will be used solely for the restoration of the boat and the expenses of keeping a boat so that our fallen families can enjoy sailing on Goldeneye for free.

Let's make it happen!
"Put people together on a boat and get them out on the ocean. I guarantee that they will learn more about each other!"
Joshua was a remarkable man to many and it's my honor to try and carry his legacy as well as all of our other fallen heroes forward. May we always remember what all of our fallen sacrificed for our freedom!
I'm a current board member of the Run for the Fallen Maine and I've met many families who have helped me grieve as a result. I've also enjoyed an incredible experience in hiking with a group of 80 hikers up Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park carrying the memorial stone of Army Specialist Wade A. Slack with The Summit Project and I hope to help out many of our wounded warriors in the future.
