Golf scholarship pathway

Hello, my name is Elijah (Els).

I am 16 years old and it is my goal to pursue a scholarship pathway to a university in America, in order that I can further develop my golfing career. I am currently doing my GCSE's. I hope to complete my A Level's at a college with a specialist Golf Academy. This will allow me to play as much golf as possible, receive professional coaching and secure the further coaching I need to move to the next level. Unfortunately, this is not available to me in the state education system and I will have to attend a private college in order to do this. Without funding, my dream becomes almost impossible.

Through excellent academic grades, my predicted GCSE results and the standard I have attained in golf, I have managed to secure a partial scholarship to attend this college. However, in order for this to happen, I have to find the shortfall for the fees and Go Fund Me fundraising is the only option that I have.

I lost my grandma in July of this year and in a letter to her grandchildren read at her funeral, she wrote, "If Golf is your dream, follow your heart and do everything you can to pursue your goals." Well, this is my first step towards taking control of my education and my career. My grandma saw me progress from being an inexperienced little boy with a set of plastic golf clubs to playing in a Boys Open at

St Andrews; playing in the Ping Wales Open competitions; and was extremely proud when I was made the Junior Captain of my golf club. I am now playing off a handicap of 6 and with the coaching that this college offers, I know that I can become a scratch player by the summer of next year.
