Gomba Divine Primary School

Gomba Divine Nursery and Primary School, was born out of the need to address the challenge of access to and quality of education in Gomba district and the country at large. Gomba is one of the most backward districts of Uganda. The district is characterized by limited access to quality education, health and low economic development in general. Most children in the district do not complete primary seven and the few that do, cannot compete for quality secondary schools, hindering their future opportunities.

The school opened in June 2019 with 18 pupils in Nursery and lower primary section. By the end of year, the school had 25 pupils of which 12 were boys and 13 girls. In terms of level of education, 15 were in nursery section and 10 were in the primary section. The school already has a core staff including Head teacher, class teachers, bursar, children’s caretaker and cook. Basic operational procedures and guidelines especially for record keeping and administration have been developed.

Gomba Divine started constructions in May 2019 and started operations on 17th June 2019. At the moment, the school has two classroom blocks: one comprising the head teacher’s office and nursery section, while the second block houses P1 to P4. Both blocks have a permanent soil filled foundation, sealed with a cement, aggregate and sand screed.

For the second, upcoming classroom block, it is yet to be roofed. In addition, the walls and classroom partitions are lacking. The following activities are planned:

All donations will be directly managed from us and either be personally delivered to Uganda or will be sent to the official bank account of Gomba Divine. All fees that are occuring from such transfer, will be covered privately by us to ensure that 100 % of the donations will be delivered to Gomba.
