Gomez needs spinal surgery

Well, I know we've asked for help before, but this time it's fairly urgent. Our 4mo old puppy, Gomez, was injured wrestling with other dogs and will require spinal surgery. He is the calmest, sweetest little puppy I have ever met and deserves to have a decent quality of life. He is currently paralyzed and has no feeling in his back legs to the point of dragging them around and has trouble relieving himself. We are working closely with a neurologist at CASE to manage his pain until we can afford the surgery. Unfortunately, the longer it takes for the surgery the lower the expectations. We do not live in a place where other options like wheels etc are viable. We accept the responsibility of this and realize we should not have let him play with older dogs. We were trying to socialize him, not destroy him. There is no greater sadness or helplessness we have ever felt. This little man is just beginning his life, and is already spending most of his time bedridden, whining for the excitement, fun and trouble the typical 4mo old puppy is interested in. It is extremely hard to even lay with him, so bored and in pain at points he shakes and pants, sometimes to the point of clacking his jaws together in agony. We have done everything to keep him safe and healthy and comfortable in every other way, but he cannot go on with his life in this way. We cannot either. Any support of any kind you can offer to him or us is so greatly appreciated, there is no way to express our gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has already helped us.
