Good Samaritan critically injured in hit-and-run

Hello everyone my name is Keith Paine. On the night of September 12, I was helping a stranded motorist by changing their flat tire. After she left, I was helping another lady back into her car who also stopped to help. While helping her, a driver slammed into the rear of her car without hitting the brakes. The incoming car flipped me into the air twice and threw me into the ditch. I ended up with a collapsed lung, severe head lacerations and a knee injury. Through all of this, I was able to retrieve the tag number from the vehicle trying to leave the scene. I stood in the middle of the road and yelled the tag number until the police were able to take note of it and find out who sped away from the crash.
I have been in hospital for three days now and anything you can give to help is greatly appreciated. It will likely be a minimum of 4-6 week recovery process for the collapsed lung. During this time, I will not be able to work.
