Good Samaritan UPDATE- Ashlee Bell
Donation protected
Hi everyone - My Name is Dee-
UPDATE~~ We have just been informed that the man who Hit our daughter had VERY limited insurance - and all medical bills have chewed that up immediately! Thousands of dollars of a financial burden- how is someone who has been hit by a truck supposed to do this? No repercussions? ZERO accountability for his actions killing someone and leaving another financial crippled.
Ashlee is healing better - but now that we know there are NO financial resources for her, she will need to stop getting any medical attention for this accident - We don't want this for her!
~ Our daughter Ashlee Bell was hit by a truck and very seriously injured on Thursday 8/17, while helping a sweet kind elderly woman who suffered from dementia cross a crazy busy road - State Rd 50 - the details of the accident are below- as posted by a new media outlet.
Currently Ashlee is undergoing extensive medical treatment- While we are VERY grateful that she survived the medical bills and expenses are already piling up and the struggle is beginning. We are asking for help in raising funds for our daughter's medical and incidentals so we can continue to ensure she revoices the highest quality care possible without worrying about the financial burden.
Every contribution will go directly towards supporting her recovery and will make an enormous difference during this difficult time.
Ashlee is and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future - she is under the care of the best doctors, Neuro doctors, orthopedics and so many more. We are BEYOND grateful for any help gifted to her - Thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity and outpouring of support for our family during this time!
A Kind Gesture Leaves One Person Dead and Another Injured
BROOKSVILLE – One person is dead, and another seriously injured, after they were struck by a vehicle while crossing Cortez Blvd.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 69-year-old Brooksville woman attempted to cross Cortez Blvd, east of Medical Center Blvd (Oak Hill Hospital Entrance) when a 33-year-old Spring Hill woman stopped to help her cross. Officials say traffic slowed to allow the pedestrians to cross the busy roadway, but they were both struck by an 80-year-old Weeki Wachee man driving a pickup truck, who tried to go around the pedestrians in another lane.
The 69-year-old woman later died at a nearby hospital and the 33-year-old woman is listed in serious condition.
BROOKSVILLE - The eastbound lanes of Cortez Blvd are closed from Oak Hill Hospital to High Point Blvd due to a multi-vehicle crash.
Sources say one trauma code is en route to Oak Hill Hospital, and another victim will be airlifted to a trauma center.
Lanes will be closed for an extended period of time while the Florida Highway Patrol conducts an investigation.
