A Last Goodbye to 14 Family Members in Solomon Is.

Donation protected
With the first sunrise of 2022, 2 boatloads of the Kairoronga family set out from Gizo to attend a funeral on the Shortland Islands, part of the Solomon Islands Western Province. One of those boats, with 14 family members on board, mostly women & children, never made it home. The loss is unimaginable and the pain this family must be experiencing, is surely overwhelming.

2021 was a challenging year for the family and hopes for a brighter, happier New Year vanished with the 14 on January 1st as they waved their last goodbyes and disappeared over the horizon.

This page aims to raise enough money to meet the funeral expenses, cultural obligations and associated costs of laying to rest 14 lost souls. Please help this family to properly say goodbye to their loved ones, alongside community, with dignity, with love and support and with the assurance that at least they will not have to add financial hardship to the heavy burden they are already carrying.

On behalf of the Kairoronga Family, and with the blessing of all sections of the family, I thank you for any contribution you can make, no matter how small. The beneficiary will be the family and the family alone but with their consent, I will send out updates, photos & messages.
