Fawn's "Good Earth" Music Video

Visualizing "Good Earth" is an important aspect of presenting Fawn's upcoming EP as a body of creative work, and we're excited to have friends and collaborators Ariana Anderson, Hunter Dimin and Nydia Hartono onboard to help the collective vision come to fruition.

Fawn is Will Johnson and Anne Malin Ringwalt, two formerly solo musicians who, after five years of collaborating with each other, decided to give themselves a dedicated space for their music to grow together. Combining elements of banjo, guitar, ukulele, synth and poetry, the two aim to explore the often-overlooked spaces between pre-established genres.

Fawn's debut single, "The Good Earth," is forthcoming this month and will be available to download for free. The song, a reimagining of the Johnny Cash classic, is an exploration of the vastness of the emotional terrain wherein one can undergo personal transformation. This song is, to the best of our knowledge, perhaps the only (save for Joanne Cash's rendition) female-voiced version of this song.

Following "The Good Earth" is Fawn's debut EP, forthcoming in November 2016. The EP includes an original track entitled "Good Earth"—much different than the J.C. track but still representative of the transformative and spiritual.  "Good Earth" is a song about reclaiming the body, moving beyond pain and building a spiritual realm independent of religion through love.

Any contributions to help Fawn (along with Nydia, Ari and Hunter) achieve their vision are warmly welcomed. The project will cost roughly $500; these funds will provide transportation and food to the project's crew as well as provide the creative team with resources for props, rentals and set design.

We hope to meet our goal of $500. Any funds raised beyond $500 will go to Planned Parenthood, a necessary force for understanding and empowering the body and spirit.
