Free Access to Goofball Sk8

Don protégé
Hi there,

We're Joan and Harper Rose and we're the co-owners and operators of Goofball Sk8. We opened this indoor skate park and shop in Kansas City to give space to beginner and underrepresented skaters. We strive to build community through skateboarding and inclusion of people who do not see themselves represented by the larger skate community.

We pride ourselves on being a safe and sober place for the community to hang out. As queer and trans skaters ourselves, we've worked hard to build a community that everyone feels welcome in regardless of identity or skate ability.

Especially because we are in the midwest, we have a lot of weather like extreme heat, extreme cold, and storms that limit days that we can skate outside, making the indoor park invaluable. We would like to offer free admission to our indoor park, but because we pay rent, we have to charge people to skate. This excludes a portion of our community that cannot afford to pay to skate. We take donations of used skate parts so that people can put boards together for free, but we would also love to offer access to the skatepark.

Help us make Goofball at truly accessable skatepark for everyone! The money you donate will go towards our monthly rent, and any extra money will go towards improving the park and building more skate obstacles.
