Gordie and Julie need your help

Hi, my name is Jaime and I am creating this fundraiser to help my dad and stepmom at a time in their lives when they thought that my dad would finally be able to retire and enjoy his free time BUT we found out yesterday, March 3rd that he needs a liver transplant. My dad has spent his whole life putting others before himself and lending a helping hand no matter what it was. He has spent the last 24 years dedicated to the scouts and giving his whole self to the programs here. He was looking forward to spending more time with his family, and doing the things he loves, but was sidelined by this prognosis. This process is not quick and has a recovery time of 6-12 months after surgery. My stepmom Julie is going to need to be there every step of the way, which means lost wages for up to four months before other people can be there to help out so she can go back to work. There will be new expenses since retirement comes with needing to move and all the tests come with lots of travel back and forth to White River and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When the transplant happens, they will need to be in Pittsburgh for at least a month, depending on how the surgery goes.

I am asking us to rally around this incredibly selfless man and help them out when they need it most. He is very proud and stubborn and would not typically ask for help. The money we raise will go directly to their monthly expenses, lost wages, and help with travel expenses.
