Hello Family.
I am here to raise resources to cremate my dad and honor his life. It was a difficult one. He had a lot of early trauma and battled addiction and criminality as long as I have been alive. As I am reflecting on so many things and feeling a tremendous variety of emotions, I look on photos like this and wonder who he was in his soulful essence, and long to have known it beyond the pain and trauma he pased down to me. Through this cylcling grief process of feeling the gamut of emotions, supporting my inner child, and healing by releasing with compassion, I hope to offer that healing balm to the intergenerational wounds and over time discover more about the positive aspects of this man as I hear stories from those who cared about him and were impacted by his being.
On this side of the family I am the first generation to overcome being entirely governed by psychological dis-ease and addiciton, though I continue to feel quite connected to those patterns and am still working in the sublte layers of them. May the pain end here and not carry further down the DNA line.
His death was tragic and accidental at 67. In these last few years he has been without power and water at his home and living under the pressures of mental illness and addiciton. This money will first go to his crematation. Then to paying down the liens against the family home so we can save it from being sold for taxes. And then to making it possible to meet the sons of my father's siblings who experienced the same accidents and addictions, and maybe most importanly, a long lost brother who found me just last year and sadly, never got to meet his father before he died.
Thank you so much for your being and generosity. We heal in community. May the ripple of care continue out across all hearts who need it, returning back to you with wonderous amplification.
SO MUCH LOVE.
