GO-SPAY-ME APPEAL

Major Event scheduled for MAY 2025 (aiming for up to 240 animals to be treated) in partnership with 2gether4strays e.V based in Germany .

(Initial event held successfully on 22nd July 2024 when 37 animals were sterilised)

Two of our team members, recently visited Romania, to see first-hand the struggles the country faces in managing their historical stray dog population. Many of the local people are incredibly caring and very knowledgeable. However, they are overwhelmed and need our support.

Like all reputable registered charities, we recognise that rescuing and rehoming is only one part of caring for these vulnerable pups.

It is essential that charities such as ours, are also onboard with regular spaying and neutering campaigns to ensure breeding is reduced. Otherwise more unwanted puppies will suffer and the female dogs have a poor quality of life in particular.

That is why we have teamed up with our colleague in Romania, Adriana Luiza, and a local vet to carry out mass spaying and neutering events near Snagov, Romania. The first of which took place on 22nd July 2024 at a cost of 35 euros per dog.

We are delighted to announce that going forward we will be working in partnership with 2gether4strays e.V based in Germany. Carmen and Tabitha the Founders are exceptionally experienced, having supported the shelter in Snagov for 11 years. They have also organised a large spay/neuter event in the past. So we are extremely lucky to be working with them on this project.

Having veterinary funds ready to access will make this process far quicker and more effective.

More information about Pennypaws Rescue: Pennypaws Rescue is a UK charity working tirelessly to relieve the suffering of dogs who are abandoned, stray, at risk of being euthanised or otherwise in need of care and attention by rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing such dogs in the UK as well as raising public awareness of dog welfare issues. Much of our work is carried out rescuing abandoned dogs in Romania. Every penny donated to Pennypaws goes to help more dogs as we are entirely run by volunteers.
