Dear All,
We truly haven’t found the right words to express our sadness and loss. But we did want to let you all know that it is with tremendous sadness my Mom and I share that my Father passed away on April 8th. My parents were in a severe car accident in Denver on I-25 and unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. My Mother continues down her recovery journey from the accident.
My Mom and I deeply appreciate everyone reaching out to us and the love, prayers, and support we have received. We know how much everyone loved my dad and cares for our family. We have started this GoFundMe in response to those reaching out and asking if there are ways they can help donate to help support my parents. Donations from this GoFundMe will be going towards the celebration of life for my Dad, medical costs, and ongoing costs associated with my Mom's recovery. There are obviously never any expectations from us to donate, and to my mom and me, the thoughts and prayers are just, if not more, valuable than any money.
I will continue to keep people updated regarding plans to celebrate my Dad's life after it is safe for us to gather and my mom is further along in her recovery process. We want to make sure we take the time to develop a celebration that truly allows all those whose lives were impacted by my Dad to join us, to tell stories together, and to remember the wonderful father, husband, brother, uncle, coach, mentor, teacher, friend, and colleague that he was.
Many of you know my Dad from the various parts of his full and dynamic life and I know both my Mom and I would love to read and hear about any fond memories you have of and with him, and the ways he has touched and impacted your lives. Please feel free to share on this post if you have a favorite picture or memory so we can collect them.
There is a void in our lives that will never be filled. We don’t have the words right now to capture everything we are feeling, but to my Dad - who we know is watching down on us, thank you for being the best dad, husband, coach, mentor, friend, and teacher. Mom and I love you forever and always, we will forever miss you and will always hold you in our hearts.
