Goy Family Tragedy, 3 Lives Lost
Donation protected
For the Goy family, what started as a fun-filled Father’s Day weekend of laughter, smoothies and a boat tour, as the kids described it as "the best day of their lives" quickly turned into a devastating tragedy.
On Saturday, June 20, 2015 at approximately 8:00 p.m. while returning from a family vacation to the Columbia River Gorge, Anatoliy Goy (47), Daniel Goy (7) and Alex Goy (9) were tragically killed in a head-on motor vehicle collision. The Goy family, including the wife Mariya (49) and son Andrey (11), were traveling west on State Route 14 near Bonneville, Washington when a Toyota pickup truck crossed the centerline and collided with their van. The father, Anatoliy, and the youngest son were killed instantly. The second youngest, Alex (9), died Monday morning while on life support at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. Mariya (49) and Andrey (11) are in fair condition. Mariya has been released from the hospital, while Andrey is still recovering from massive lacerations to his body and face.
Anatoliy and Mariya Goy had six children, including Vasiliy (23), Serge (21) and Mira (17), who did not accompany them on this trip. The family lost two beloved brothers and their father, one day shy of Father’s Day. The two young boys will be buried together with their father in Kent, Washington.
The other driver that hit the Goy family was not insured, nor had a valid license.
This account has been established to raise funds for the surviving members of the Goy family. On behalf of the Goy family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible generosity everyone has shown. The outpouring of love and support has been amazing. Please continue to keep all those involved in your thoughts and prayers.
All donations will go towards helping the family with memorial expenses for Anatoliy, Daniel and Alex as well as medical expenses coming from this accident. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. They will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Thank you and God bless!
