We are Peaceful Schools International. We are funding for a trip to Northern Ireland in order to teach conflict resolution to the children.
Fifteen students from Saint Mary's will be travilling to Northern Ireland to teach peace education and conflict resolution workshops in Catholic, Protestant and Intergrated schools in Belfast and surrounding areas. These workshops are developed for children ages 6-16, promote the development of conflict resolution skills in an attempt to support a culture of peace among Northern Ireland's children and youth.
Before departing for Northern Ireland, as we have done in past years, we will be facilitating our workshops at local schools, including Oxford School, Inglis Street Elementary, Saint Catherine's Elementary, and St. Mary's Elementary. This is our way of promoting peace in schools both at home and abroad. Upon our return, we will engage the public by sharing information and making presentations to spread awareness, highlighting our experiences both locally and internationally.
