**You guys have absolutely blown our minds, we are so thankful for all your donations and we’re excited to say that we have raised our goal from $400 to $1000! This will allow us to purchase more than twice as many products for the women in need and we’ll able to cross even more off their wish list. Thank you again, Bella and Hannah**
Our names are Bella and Hannah and we are two high school students from Ottawa. The Lotus project is a youth led initiative that aims to uplift others by supporting local women who are severely struggling to find safe housing. We plan on purchasing items with one hundred percent of the funds we raise: toiletries, feminine hygiene products, and warm clothes are just some of the things that we intend to buy.
The Cornerstone Women's Shelter is a place of refuge that provides emergency shelter to women in danger, and creates safe and affordable living environments for those in need. With 65 full and part time staff alongside their 300 volunteers, the shelter strives to increase safe housing and end homelessness. They aim to "break the cycles of homelessness, poverty, and abuse", and transform our nation's capital for the better.
