A Mother - A Friend - A Fighter!

Update: February 21, 2024

On February 19, 2024, God received another angel. Our devoted friend and loving mother passed away after over a yearlong cancer battle.

The week of February 12th we received the news that Barb’s cancer had returned and with a vengeance. There was cancer activity found in her throat, liver, lunges, and bone. We also learned that the back pain she had been struggling with was due to a compound fracture in her back. She was hospitalized on February 13th and endured several medical procedures; to name a few: a biopsy of her throat, a feeding tube, and a port to administer another round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. In addition, Barb had a procedure to secure her back fracture in effort to reduce her pain and allow for continued mobility.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to support medical expenses. Thank you for your prayers over the last year, and your continued support.

I’m confident that Barb is enjoying her reunion with her mom. ❤️

Barb is always unselfishly thinking of others, whether it's preparing a meal for someone who is sick or recently had surgery, bringing someone an unexpected smell-good treat from Bath and Body Works (her second job) or offering to care for your pet while you're away.

Over 1 0 years ago, Barb fought hard to beat her battle with Leukemia, and she won! Now Barb has to endure the cancer battle again. This time with Oral Cancer. In January '23, Barb received the news that she would have to undergo surgery and would likely have to face Radiation and/or Chemotherapy to remove the newly discovered cancer.

The emotional and financial drain this has had is only just beginning. She has a long road ahead of her and will be out of work for a period of time to heal physically and emotionally. So many of you have reached out to ask how you can help, and that is so appreciated.

Although Barb doesn't like to be the receiver of help, she likes to be on the giving side. Helping to reduce the financial worry so that Barb can focus 100% on her health battle would be helpful.

Thank you for anything you are able to contribute, and for your prayers and well-wishes.
