Elaine's Heart Journey

Elaine is an amazing 51 year old mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Elaine was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy after her son, Bryce was born in 1998. HCM is a genetic progressive heart disease with no cure just treatment and transplant. There are 6 family member with this condition. Elaine has fought hard to stay as healthy as possible however, due to the progression of her HCM she is now in the advanced end stage heart failure. Elaine resides in Las Vegas, and travels to California for her medical treatment. Elaine is currently a patient at KECK medical center at USC. There is no heart transplant team in Las Vegas, so California is the closest/safest option.

Elaine is currently going through the testing for a heart transplant and was informed that on July 10, her transplant team is looking to admit her to the hospital until she receives her transplant. The team is looking to list her between 1-3. Once Elaine receives her transplant she will need to stay in California for an estimated 3 months within a 2 mile distance of the hospital.

Elaine is an amazing women who has continued to be positive and keep God at the center of her life. Elaine is a outstanding community member by serving the less fortunate, when she felt well enough. Elaine’s two children have spent years caring for their mother and feel so blessed to call her mom. Her family, best friends Susan and Kelly are truly a blessing and amazing support for her as well. Susan will be her caretaker during recovery.
