My Sister Kathy

My sister Kathy had a massive stroke and had to be on a ventilator in the hospital and as of writing this, she is still in ICU unit at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, FL. I talked with her nurse today and she said that her right side of her body was affected and that she cannot speak yet. She is still having difficulty swallowing so they have a feeding tube in her. The nurse said she hoped that Kathy could be taken to a regular room within the next few days.

I talked with Kathy's daughter, my niece Melanie, and she told me a lot about what has been going on with my sister. Melanie was just down there visiting with her mother and helping her get into a better health condition, so this was a surprise to her.

I'm raising funds for 2 things, one for me to be able to fly down their from Maine to visit my sister so I can pray for her and just talk with her. She gave her life to the Lord a few years back and has been living for God since then. She has a great church in Bartow Florida that she has been attending. She loves her pastor, Tom Presley, very much and knowing her, she can't wait to get well enough to go to church and hear him preach.

The second part of this is to help my sister with bills and such. She will have to go into a Skilled Nursing Facility when she gets released from the hospital. There may be another option for her to go live with her daughter, Melanie, up in Idaho, but that too is an expensive move for her. Being blunt, I love my sister and would love to help her in any way that I can. If we raise over $5,000 that is okay too, but I had to put a figure on here.
