Family Emergency

The funds would cover post-secondary school for three children, lawyer fees for the divorce, bank loans, and the impending loss of my home due to the liability of my ex's unpaid business taxes and loans, which were unknown to me during our marriage.

I'm a separated mom of 3 children seeking help to cover necessities while I'm trying to go through the divorce process with an uncooperative ex. After 16 years of marriage, the physical, mental and emotional abuse from my ex to myself and our children was too much. I filed for divorce in January 2020, a long overdue decision. For the safety of my children and myself, we left our home and stayed in a shelter. Culturally, divorce is not accepted and my family have been abandon from both sides of the family. With the help of the court order, my daughters and I could return home in 2021.

Over the long weekend of May 2023, I discovered that my ex did not pay taxes on his business—a hidden secret he kept from our marriage.

I have given my ex a year to resolve these serious financial issues, such as removing the business name from our home address, as he has a business address, and paying off his taxes and delinquent loans. Sadly, his perception of how to resolve these issues is that I should pay his entire financial debt.

Unfortunately, due to this recent news and the lack of action, my children and I could lose our home. I ask for financial assistance to help cover necessities, post-secondary education, finding a lawyer and essential funds so we do not become homeless.

In addition to coping with the situation, working full time and managing a family on a single parent income is an enormous challenge and rewarding. This is a last-resort, call for help to maintain a healthy family, a roof over our head, and basic needs.

Please help me provide for my children. I love my children, and giving them the same access to opportunities is essential. Even though the ideal family has changed, the children's mental health is ongoing; during this time, they have shown resilience and strived to succeed. I am starting this GoFundMe for financial safety. The goal is $75,000.00 to $100,000.00.
