Grace Chuku Burial Fund

My name is Esuru Chuku the daughter of Grace Chuku. She was born in Nigeria in 1957 to Fina and Nathan Chuku in Obinze Nigeria April 2, 1957. With great despair I am asking for donations to bring my moms body back to Nigeria for a fitting burial and to pay the fees to ship possessions back home. In 2019 as I was forced to leave USA due to overstaying my visa. My mother was having emergency kidney and lung surgery and was resuscitated as a result of respiratory failure caused by empyema abscess pneumonia and acute renal kidney failure. Since then my mom has suffered multiple medical complications including hypothyroid, deep vein thrombosis, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis and an intense prolapsed uterus for over 3 years. My mothers recent diagnosis was cervical cancer on 5/20/2022. My mother died ten days after receiving her last chemotherapy treatment on March 19, 2023.

I was anticipating my moms return home to Nigeria after 3 long years of her trying to recover. Finding out my mom had cervical cancer was extremely devastating. I am the only child and daughter who grew up in USA. My mother and I were very close and I always took care of her the best I could while being separated. My mother was also assisting me monthly for the 3 years I have been in Nigeria. My mom was planning to return home to Nigeria to me and see her mother after 35 years of separation. Unfortunately my mother became seriously ill in Kansas City and couldn’t make it back to Nigeria. My Grandmother who is 89 years old is barely managing herself in retirement.

All of my mother’s many belongings and mine were packed and waiting for shipment before she succumbed to her illness and died.

The ultimate wish for my mother and my family is to have her body sent back home to Nigeria for burial and to help ship her personal property back to Nigeria. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support!
