Grace for Selah - Help Ellen Care for Selah
Donation protected
I am fundraising for Selah Cali (Age 2), daughter of Ellen and Bob Cali. Selah was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor called DIPG. The average overall survival for people with diffuse midline glioma (DIPG) is less than 1 year – generally ranging from 8-11 months. Selah is going to St. Jude to get radiation, which will extend her life by months. The family and Selah have made a bucket list for Selah to enjoy before she begins radiation - This includes a trip to Cocomelon live!
Update from Ellen:
"We got a plan for this week and a tiny sliver of hope for our Selah girl.
Her primary St. Jude doctor was a little more optimistic than the other doctors we had talked with. Not dramatically more optimistic, but apparently most DIPG cases are in kids who are a little older, like 4 or 5, and she's had 2 kids who were diagnosed younger, around 12 months old, who got chemo instead of radiation and a year out from treatment they are okay. So that's not buckets of data over much time, but I'll take that little sliver of hope. It's not much, and we won't know until after the biopsy if that path may be an option for her, so we don't want to get our hopes up. But it's a start.
Her biopsy is Wednesday, and that will determine how treatment goes after radiation. The neurosurgeon said he expects she'll just be in the hospital overnight, so that's great, too.
It's still a biopsy of a tumor in her brain stem, so there's risks, but the neurosurgeon was confident it would go smoothly. "
I am asking for financial help for Ellen to fulfill Selah's bucket list and help with expenses that will accrue from being out of work and traveling to the hospital. Most importantly, I am asking for your prayers. Our God is a miracle worker, and we know that a miracle can be performed in Selah's life!
