In Memory of Grace

Hey everybody, if you've known me for any decent length of time then you probably know that a few years ago my mum fell seriously ill. After several years of fighting, it is with a heavy and broken heart that I announce her passing.
Who was she?
For those who didn't know her, Grace was a woman so full of life and joy, able to quickly connect and get along with anyone she met. She was a giving person, always happy to help those in need, be it an ear to listen or a helping hand. She made brightening any room look effortless, and very much lived up to her name - Grace. Even while battling through her illness, she seldom wavered and was as lively as her condition allowed her to be, always joking and smiling when she had the energy.
Above all else, if there is one thing anyone would say about my mother, it's that she loved her children. Coming all the way from Jamaica by herself at the age of 22, she carved out a life for me and my siblings here in the UK, and I think the main thing that I have always looked up to her for is that she made it look easy. She was nothing short of badass, and I aspire to have even a tenth of my mother's strength in these coming months.
Why I need your help.
When I took a step back from the games industry back in 2021, it was to give my mum the time she needed from me. We were at the height of the pandemic, and she had just returned home from a several month induced coma after contracting Covid. She was unable to walk or care for herself or my younger sister, but despite this we worked together as a team and over time she started to get better.
Unfortunately as life would have it, she entered into the final stages of her long standing kidney condition around this time and so I opted to become her primary carer. This left me some time to continue pursuing a career in content creation and streaming, but my main focus was always on helping mum - something that my community has been very supportive of over the years.
I'm setting up this fundraiser in the hopes of gaining your support in these difficult times. Any donations will go first toward easing the financial burden of paying for my mother's funeral, and fulfilling her final wishes. The rest will go toward supporting me and my younger sister in the short term as we try to find our bearings after this loss.
If you've read this far, thank you for sparing a moment of your day for me and my family, and thank you for your generosity.
