She was daughter of the late Albert Joseph Ramtu and the late Monica Wangui Chege. Sister to Betty Ramtu Maehlmann of Germany, Cecelia Ramtu Owitti, Nira Maria Ramtu Albert Kitao, the late Joseph Patrick Ramtu, Simon Chege Ramtu, and Alexander M Ramtu of Kenya. Sister in-law to Peter, Joe, Phyllis and Riziki.
