Hi everyone my Name is Eileen Grogan and I'm Grace's Auntie
As many of you will know Grace went into hospital to under go her 4th open heart surgery on Monday 14th of October, initial prognosis was Grace OHS had been a successful Unfortunately shortly after this we received the devastating news that Grace had suffered a neurological stroke.
As we know, Grace had swelling on the brain due to the stroke and around lunchtime on Wednesday19th of October, she became very drowsy and not as responsive to touch tests as she had been before. They immediately took her for another CT scan which showed the swelling had gotten worse and was now squashing the right (healthy side) of her brain. This lead to Grace, more or less being rushed back to theatre to have decompression surgery which involved them removing a part of her skull to relieve the pressure and basically save our Amazing Grace's life. This procedure came with extremely high risks.
Thankfully the operation went well with no complications and she is now back in PICU, very sleepy but off her ventilator again and holding her stats on her own. She is responding to touch, voices, opening and following you with her eyes etc although still little to no movement on her right side, but our angel is here and so far doing well considering the trauma her tiny wee body has endured this week alone.we just hope and pray she continues to improve and again keep our brave girl in your prayers.
As a family my brother Ricky and Sister inlaw Vicky have been at Grace's beside every minute ,of everyday and will continue to do so, through Grace's recovery. no one can understand the pain they are going through just now , with this in mind the weeks and months ahead are going to be extremely hard for them and this is the reason for the go fund me.
We have no answers to how long the recovery will be for our Amazing Grace so I ask you if you can donate to help both Grace and her mum and dad we would be forever grateful
