Grace was born at the IWK in September of 2013 weighing 1lb 7oz. She possessed all the qualities that a fighter should have. She endured countless surgeries over the span of her short life, and sadly, as she awaited another surgery, her heart just stopped. After much effort on the part of the doctors and nurses to revive her, Grace lost her valiant effort. Grace was 3 years old.
They said she would never walk...and yet, she ran. They said she would never see...and yet, she saw the beauty in the world around her. They said she would never speak...and yet her parents, grandparents and family heard the softness of her voice daily as she sang to her favourite song. Her smile radiated her inner beauty and touched everyone she met.
Grace was like a rainbow....she touched people from all corners of the world..she was bright...she was colorful ...and like a rainbow...she was fleeting.
Fly high, little angel Grace...fly high!
The accumulated funds will help the family offset the cost of Grace's funeral and other expenses they will need over the next little while.
