This is a Memorial Fund for the family of Gracie Milburn.
After losing their daughter Shelbi Milburn just 6 short months ago. This family was greeted by the local police department the morning of April 12th with the report that their daughter Grace Milburn had died.
Grace was so full of life and she Loved the Lord Jesus very much but had struggles after losing her sister and best friend Shelbi.
Gracie tried to find strength in a closer relationship with her brother Danny and started hanging out with her mom on a regular basis who she said was her best friend, she played dress up with her little sister Emily and spent time with her sister's Abby and karri and her niece and nephews.
This seemed to help occupy her mind but over time she fell into depression and started to drink to numb the pain.
Knowing she didn't want to live that way she would often spend days sometimes weeks away from her friends because there were some that only wanted to lead her down a bad road. She had many friends that cared for her but life gets busy and she couldn't be around them all the time. Having been brought up loving God and knowing the truth she prayed often and even gave her life to Christ at a young age. Wanting a new start she was baptized just months ago and begin to read her bible and even debate with her dad about scripture.
But with the passing of time and feeling loneliness, the pain of losing her sister and best friend was to much. Anyone who knew Gracie and Shelbi knew that although they would fight like sisters, they loved each other the most.
As she began to drink more trying to hide the pain she got in some trouble and a judge ordered for her to have an ankle bracelet put on that would read alcohol consumption. Wanting to be free of any substance grace went in to rehab and completed rehabilitation successfully.
After completing rehabilitation we had Gracie back the same girl full of life and love ready to take on the world and she kept her focus for a good while and even made a point to hang out with just the right people. Wearing that ankle bracelet prevented her from drinking but as depression and loneliness came once again Gracie began to get very agitated and although she fought hard and would tell her family how hard it was, one night she went out with some friends and after just wanting to not hurt for a while she gave in. She had done this before but was able to stop when she wanted. This time was different and Gracie was beginning to spiral out of control very quickly. After a bad break up with a boyfriend she cared about she began to hang out with the wrong people and in less than a week these people who did not know her and did not care about her, allowed her to have access to the things that can destroy one's life.
On the night of April 11th Grace called her family and spoke with her mother about plans for the next day. The family went to bed and Gracie called one more time close to 4:00 in the morning to ask her mom to call her in just a few hours because she felt she would be hard to wake up for staying up so late. Just a few hours later her mom started making the calls but Gracie did not answer. Having missed the appointment they had made, her mom and dad were about to start their day figering she would call when she woke up, when the local police department came to the door.
Gracie was found unresponsive around 9:00am
and pronounced dead. local EMT's made every attempt to revive her but could not.
This family has gone through so much and It has taken so long trying to recover after losing their daughter Shelbi only 2 lose Grace as well.
The financial hardship of of these 2 outcomes are catastrophic, not to mention the fact that grace's dad (the sole bread winner) is not currently working because of an injury. He is still employed and getting partial pay but this family is struggling to say the very least. Please consider what you might be able to do to help ease their burden and Please pray for them that God would give them peace and comfort.
