Grad School Preparation for Louis

My name is Louis Michael, I am 22 years old, and I graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in psychology. The photo of me raising my fist in my cap in gown has recently gone viral across many platforms and has gained a lot of attention.

I started this fundraiser because my educational journey is not over yet. I will bee applying to graduate programs for counseling this upcoming fall.

I aspire to become a clinical mental health counselor with plans to serve underrepresented populations, specifically communities of color and work in the mental health field to be an advocate for mental health. 

Given the current situation this country is in with COVID-19 and now the protests, it is hard to save the money that I need for application expenses, GRE test expenses, GRE prep expenses, interview travel expenses, and sending transcripts. I am currently applying to seven schools. If I reach the goal that I have, this will cover most, if not all of the costs.

*How I am active during this time*
I have decided to use the momentum that I have gained from this photo and continue to protest and stand up for what is right here in California. I have been helping to plan peaceful protests that will be happening in the upcoming weeks. 

I currently am working as a behavioral therapist with children with autism to gain experience in the mental health field.
