Graduate Conducting-Research Tour

Donation protected
Friends! Your prayers and financial support mean the world to me...literally sending me around the world to conduct, sing, and complete my graduate research on Antonio Vivaldi. This Graduate tour is a unique collaboration between the UNF Chamber Singers and local choirs to perform in churches, castles, government buildings and public spaces that minister to international audiences.

Last Spring, the Osprey Treble Chorus premiered my modernized arrangement of Vivaldi's Gloria! It was an incredible research adventure that has led to additional arranging and conducting opportunities. While in Venice, Italy, I will visit the Chiesa della Pieta where Vivaldi lived, worked, and composed his famous piece. Here, I hope to finalize my arrangement in preparation for publication.

Part of my financial burden has been covered through fundraising performances and a UNF Graduate Research grant. However, having lost my full-time job due to the CV-19 pandemic in March 2020, I am in need of your financial support to fund the remaining amount.

Here's the FUN part:
 - for donations of $3000 or more, I will write a song on our trip and dedicate it on your behalf
 - for donations of $1000 or more (up to 3), I will send live recordings of a song dedicated to you
 - for donations of $10 or more, I will send you a copy of my post-Graduate Tour report
 - for donations of any and all amounts, I will be praying for you, your family, and any specific prayer requests you make in the comments below at every holy place on our journey.

Thanks again for your interest and support - feel free to leave a prayer or encouraging word in the comments below. One of my prayers is that we will be a light in this dark period of human history and sing joy everywhere we go.

The Chamber Singers are gearing up for a transformational learning experience set for May 2022 to Italy and Slovenia. As it has been four years since their last tour, the graduating students are incredibly eager for this opportunity - and of course, it is splendid that our voice majors will hear the Italian language first-hand and see the very places where so much music was created and first performed.

Slovenia, a less-known destination to Americans, is a perfect example of a cultural location that encompasses the bulk of 20th-century history and serves as crossroads of Slavic, Germanic and Romantic languages. Visiting Slovenia exposes students to rich, old-world culture alongside a palpable national pride in these proud citizens of the small nation, recognized as an independent state in 1992. Sharing an international perspective with local students in each location will help open our students' minds to broader possibilities for their futures.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Highlights of the 11-day performance tour include sightseeing, informal exchanges with local choirs and formal concerts in Rome, Montepulciano, Bologna and Ljubljana. With your gift of any size today, you are directly investing into Adam's professional future. The total cost of the tour is $4,500 per person, and there will be 30 students traveling. Please contact me to discuss sponsoring additional singers at [email redacted].

ABOUT US
Dr. Cara Tasher, Director of Choral Studies, has been nurturing cultural understanding through language and travel with our students since 2006. As a result, UNF students singing in the choral ensembles have had a multitude of cultural opportunities both on-campus and abroad, many of which serve as recruitment to choose UNF as a collegiate destination.
