Richard Banda is a talented and dedicated natural resource manager and conservationist seeking to further his studies. Richard has been accepted with a tuition scholarship into a M.Sc. Environmental Science program at the University of Vienna, Austria. The challenge is Richard needs to secure a visa, arrange travel, and lodging. He lives in Malawi with his wife and young daughter. He has already earned a diploma in agriculture and natural resource management, and a bachelors of science in forestry. He is a dedicated member of the Wildlife Society of Malawi, regularly leading educational trips into regional national parks and game reserves. As a World Forestry Research Fellow in Portland, Oregon he studied forestry and land management regimes in the United States.
Richard's goal is to further his education and bring greater capability to help manage and protect the natural resources of Malawi.
As a former US Peace Corps volunteer with the Malawi Department of National Parks and Wildlife (93-95) and a partner with the World Forestry Center in Portland, I am assisting Richard achieve his educational goals.
