Graduate Study Thesis Film "Revolving Door"

Donation protected
Hi! I am Jiyeon Kim, a student at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, Brooklyn College.

Allow me to share a glimpse into my current passion project: "Revolving Door."

The Heart of "Revolving Door"
Imagine a world where the terminally ill often endure their final moments in seclusion. In my film, "Revolving Door," I delve into the poignant connection between a young nurse and her patient during a profound night shift.

A Peek into Themes
Loneliness and empathy take center stage in this narrative. I explore the delicate balance healthcare providers often strike, facing the stark realities of life and death in every moment.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT
As a former nurse, I intimately witnessed the dual spectacle of life and death—patients passing away while newborn cries echoed through the hospital. In that moment, I envisioned a divine door opening for the newborns while embracing those departing. This profound mental image has driven me to create "Revolving Door," a film born from personal experience. I attempt to share this profound blend of emotions visually, transcending words and fostering a universal connection.
