Graham Gregory, a loving husband and dad
Back in January 2024 my Dad became ill overnight. After a week of tests at Peterborough hospital he was diagnosed with Liver Disease - also known as Alpha-1. We were told that he needed a liver transplant as soon as possible or he would have less than 6 months to live. He was then taken to Addenbrooks hospital where he had multiple tests and was put on the waiting list. FOUR days after, a miracle happened. A liver which was perfect for Graham had become available. After a long 24 hours of anxiously waiting, we were told the operation went well and he was in recovery. He then needed another operation due to the narrowing of the main blood vessel which setback his recovery even longer. After several weeks of travelling back and forth to visit, Graham was ready to come home. This is when we realised things were never going to be the same. He was back and forth to hospital due to levels being too high or being poorly. On May 10th he was rushed back into addenbrooks after we noticed he had gone yellow. Again, after multiple tests we were told the devastating news that he had lymphoma in his bile duct and a mass had grown under his liver as well as EBV virus which can be caused due to transplants. After 4 rounds of chemo and multiple antibiotics, Graham had become too weak and his body was no longer absorbing the medication/nutrients and was told there was nothing they could do. It was Graham's wish to come home to be comfortable and sadly he passed away at 00:47 on Wednesday 24th July. Me and my mum are wanting to raise as much money for the Liver Transplant department as they were absolutely fantastic with Graham and provided the best care. Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of ADDENBROOKE'S LIVER TRANSPLANT ASSOCIATION and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
