Hi my name is Graham and I'm a resident at Maurice house a nursing and care facility in Broadstairs, Kent. This is a British Legion home that caters for 70 elderly and frail residents who all have a history within the Armed Forces.
I am 82 years old and I will be challenging myself and raising money for this brilliant facility.
I will be using my National Health issue wheelchair to complete this challenge. I have been practising for the last couple of months as I slowly get my old bones to work again.
The course I shall use is not very long but has many humps and bumps, it is the circuit of our car parking zones.
I shall attempt to circumnavigate this busy area 40 times give or take.
this is approx 3 miles in total.
the camber of the road, and repair surfaces do not take prisoner's, so I must be at my fittest!
A good reason to attempt this trial like apollo, is the honest endeavour I have for the end result.
this is my promise to Maurice house.
This amazing feat will be completed on the sixth of August 2024. (06/08/2024)
I have just published my first book a couple of months ago. This is also for sale; the book is called Poetry and Me and has so far been positively received. My book can be purchased through Maurice House. I am ex royal-navy servicemen and served 12 years, nine of which I served with the submarine service, I have served extensively within the far-east and the east of Suez.
I now wish to put all my effort into completing my last challenge for the good people who care for me and the residents whom I can help.
